Luckily I'm a left-hander, pick up a Mod-chopstick, then I use my right hand's index & middle finders to pull the base out a little bit.

Easily I could pull-off a 1.5mm gap (above the power-button) between the base and the metal-cover, hold your "mod.chop." with left hand
